About Muscat

Muscat is the capital and most populous city of Oman, positioned on the Gulf of Oman near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. The city's distinctive architecture features low-lying white buildings set against the backdrop of the Hajar Mountains. Its economy centres on trade, petroleum, liquified natural gas and porting, making it a significant hub in the region.

The port district of Muttrah, with its corniche and harbour, sits at the north-eastern edge of the city. Eight major attractions lie within close reach of the port, with several within 0.3 km, making exploration straightforward for cruise passengers with limited time ashore.
