Forever Cruises

Accessibility

Forever Cruises aims to be usable by everyone, including people who use a screen reader, keyboard navigation or a small phone. This statement describes what the site does today and what we know still needs work.

What the site does

  • Every page has one main heading, a logical heading order and a text breadcrumb; navigation is plain links that work without JavaScript.
  • Images carry alternative text; decorative duplicates of a link are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Photo galleries are buttons that can be operated from the keyboard; route maps are followed by the same itinerary as a numbered text list, so nothing depends on the map.
  • Text can be resized without loss of content, and the layout works at a 320-pixel width without horizontal scrolling.
  • Partner links are labelled as affiliate links and open in a new tab, which is announced in the link text.

Known issues

  • Some filter chips and footer links are smaller than the 44-pixel target size recommended for touch; we are enlarging them.
  • The grey count labels inside chips have a contrast ratio just under the recommended level against their background.
  • Opening hours and reviews supplied by Google are shown as received and may contain abbreviations a screen reader expands oddly.
