About Cádiz
Cádiz is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Western Europe, founded by the Phoenicians as a trading post. The port sits in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula off the Atlantic Ocean, separated from neighbouring San Fernando by a narrow isthmus. During the 18th century, the Bay of Cádiz became the main harbour of mainland Spain, enjoying the virtual monopoly of trade with the Americas until 1778.
Cruise passengers can explore a wealth of attractions within easy reach of the terminal. Torre Tavira (rated 4.6 stars) stands just 0.3 km away, whilst Parque Genovés (4.6 stars) and the Catedral de Cádiz (4.5 stars) are both under a kilometre from the port. The Cadiz Museum is just 0.1 km away, making it ideal for a quick visit between ship activities.
